What I Often Support People With
People come to counselling for many different reasons. Often it’s because something in life feels heavy, confusing, or difficult to navigate alone.
Some of the areas I often support people with include:
• understanding relationship patterns and attachment dynamics
• people-pleasing, boundaries, and difficulty expressing needs
• anxiety, overthinking, and feeling emotionally overwhelmed
• self-criticism, shame, and feelings of not being “good enough”
• grief and loss, including the loss of loved ones, miscarriage, or pregnancy loss
• processing complex emotions around reproductive experiences
• perinatal mental health and navigating the emotional changes around pregnancy and early parenthood
• relationship breakdowns, separation, and the emotional impact of these transitions
• identity, self-worth, and making sense of life transitions
• feeling disconnected from yourself or unsure of your direction
Many of these experiences are connected to deeper relational patterns that develop over time. Counselling provides a space to gently explore these experiences, understand how they may be shaping the present, and begin developing more compassionate and supportive ways of relating to yourself and others.
Counselling with me is collaborative, reflective, and focused on understanding the deeper layers behind what you're experiencing.
While practical strategies can be helpful, lasting change often comes from exploring the patterns that sit beneath the surface, including early experiences, attachment dynamics, core beliefs, and the ways we’ve learned to protect ourselves emotionally.
My work draws on a range of evidence-based approaches, including Schema Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and attachment-informed work.
These approaches help us explore both insight and practical tools, supporting emotional regulation, understanding patterns, and developing new ways of relating to yourself and others.
Sessions are always paced in a way that feels safe and respectful, with a focus on helping you develop greater self-awareness, emotional understanding, and more compassionate ways of responding to your experiences.
